15-Minute Steamed Tofu

Yields 1-2 servings

This tofu dish makes for an easy side dish or a quick and light weeknight dinner. Since it’s already packed full of flavor, it can easily be served alongside plain white rice or quickly cooked noodles to round out the meal. If you don’t have a steamer, you can always use a wide sauté pan or wok, place a heavy heat-proof bowl in the middle (flipped upside-down), then fill the pan or wok with about 1-2 inches of water.

Assembly

Step 1
Heat up water in a steamer or a heavy, heat-proof bowl in the bottom of a wide sauté pan or wok.

Step 2
Drain tofu and place onto a heat-proof dish. Cut tofu into 1-inch thick slices and place entire dish into steamer once water has come to a simmer. Cover and steam for about 10 minutes, or until tofu is heated through.

Step 3
Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine peanuts, chili crisp, sesame seeds, and sesame oil. Set aside.

Step 4
Once tofu is heated through, carefully remove it from the steamer and drain any extra liquid that may have been released from the tofu. Drizzle with Sweet n Sour Shortcut Sauce, then top with peanut chili crisp mixture and green onion. Serve with rice or noodles.

Ingredients

1 block Soft tofu

¼ cup Sweet n Sour Shortcut Sauce

¼ cup Roasted or fried peanuts, roughly chopped

1 tbsp Chili crisp

1 tsp Sesame seeds

½ tsp Sesame oil
