Crispy Honey Butter Toast

Yields 2 servings

This crispy, caramelized toast is absolute perfection, with its crunchy exterior, soft interior, and pleasant honey flavor. Iconic to Arôme Bakery in London, England, this toast has become famous all over TikTok and Instagram.

Although it’s delicious on its own, we decided to top it with a heavy drizzle of Pistakio’s creamy pistachio spread, along with freshly whipped cream, and roasted plums and strawberries. To balance out the sweetness, we roasted the fruit with a splash of our Strawberry Rosé Living Vinegar and a touch of cardamom.

This recipe was created in collaboration with Pistakio.

Assembly

Roasted Strawberries and Plums:
Preheat oven to 375ºF.

Gently combine fruit with sugar and cardamom in a rimmed pan. Spread out evenly and bake for about 30 minutes or until cooked but still firm. Remove from the oven and set aside. Reduce oven temperature to 350ºF.

Honey Butter Toast:
Mix butter, brown sugar, honey, and salt together in a small bowl. Place bread onto parchment lined baking sheet. Spread mixture onto the sliced bread, covering all sides. Ensure that the mixture is spread thinly and evenly, otherwise it will not caramelize nicely.

Bake for 10 minutes. Carefully flip and bake for another 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Transfer to wire reack to finish cooling for 10 minutes.

Assembly:
Meanwhile, prepare whipped cream by whipping cream, white or powdered sugar, and vanilla on high until thick.

Right before serving, drizzle Pistakio pistachio spread all over the toast and top with whipped cream and roasted fruit. Enjoy!
