Cubano-Style Pigs in a Blanket

Yields 16 rolls

Pigs in a blanket are a crowd-pleasing appetizer at most parties, but it’s always fun to provide your guests with something a little different. Instead of steering too far from the original, we simply added sliced pickles, Swiss cheese, and our Hot Deli Mustard, inspired by the Cubano sandwich.

Assembly

Step 1
Preheat oven to 375ºF. Using paper towel, dry dill pickle slices and set aside.

Step 2
Unroll Pillsbury crescent roll dough, separating the triangles. Cut each triangle in half lengthwise to create two thinner triangles. Repeat this with the remaining dough.

Step 3
Apply a small dab of Hot Deli Mustard onto each triangle, and spread evenly with an offset spatula.

Step 4
At the base of each triangle, place 1 slice of Swiss cheese, 1 slice of pickle, and a cocktail wiener on top of each other, then carefully roll up the triangle. Place onto a lined baking sheet with at least 1-2 inches of space between each roll.

Step 5
Beat egg with water, then brush a light layer on to the top of each roll. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Transfer to oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
