Cauliflower Poppers

Yields 2-4 servings

Listen, we’re not here to convince you that breaded and fried cauliflower is the same as eating a chicken wing. That’s just silly. What we are here to tell you is that when you do those steps with cauliflower and toss them in our Sweet n Sour Shortcut Sauce with honey, it is DANG TASTY. We went with a double crispy approach, by combining a tempura-like batter with breadcrumbs, to make sure there isn’t a soggy veg in sight (or in your mouth)! If you want it extra sticky, you can reduce the sauce a little on the stove.

Assembly

Step 1
In a medium bowl, mix all dry batter ingredients together, then slowly add sparkling water while mixing.

Step 2
In a separate medium bowl, add panko. Start with 1 cup, then add more as needed.

Step 3
Heat oil to about 325ºF-350ºF. Batter, bread, and fry the cauliflower florets in small batches. Meanwhile, combine Sweet n Sour Shortcut Sauce and honey in a large bowl.

Step 4
Fry cauliflower until golden brown, transfer to a wire rack inside a sheet pan, and season with salt. Toss in sauce, top with sesame seeds and green onion, and enjoy!
