Garden Heat Vinegar at Home

Yields about 1/2 cup vinegar

A LOT of you have been asking for at-home recipes for our discontinued products, so we're starting off with one of our original vinegars: Garden Heat! This cult classic was a staff favorite at the Bon Appétit test kitchen, and has a very special place in our hearts. Although this recipe isn't exactly the same (we can't give away all of our secrets!!!), we think it's a pretty good second to fill the Garden Heat-shaped hole in your heart.

Assembly

Step 1
Blend all ingredients together either with an immersion blender or countertop blender until smooth.

Step 2
Strain blended vinegar through a fine-mesh strainer, lined with rinsed cheesecloth.

Step 3
Transfer strained vinegar to a glass container or use right away.

Note:
The vinegar can benefit from sitting for a few days first, but can also be used right away. The flavors will become more mellow and less “green” over time.

Ingredients

½ cup Meyer Lemon Honey Living Vinegar

¼ cup Carrot, peeled, grated

2.5 tbsp Celery, thinly sliced

3-5 (¼-inch) slices Jalapeño

2 tsp Tomato paste

Salt, to taste
